Expecting a baby is just as expensive and stressful as raising one!
Mike and I were treated to a trip down to Rockville to visit Buy Buy Baby. The store should be called Buy Buy Buy Buy and Buy some more Baby. Its HUGE and packed from the floor to ceiling with baby stuff. We went with Mike's brother, sis-in-law, and their 11 mo. old twin boys.
After a lunch stop at Baja Fresh we made our way to baby-gear hell. We had a few goals for the day...look at convertible car seats, umbrella strollers, and possibly gliders. There are so many different kinds of car seats it's unreal. Thankfully my sis-in-law passed down her copy of the Baby Bargains Book so we knew which brands were better than others. While Mike and I were feeling overwhelmed with the safety requirements of a newborn, the twins were amazingly calm in the chaos. We didn't make any decisions about a seat, but we did pick out the glider and fabric that we want to get and we decided on the umbrella stroller. Score!
As a bonus, the wonder-twins were generous in passing along bags and bags of clothing they have outgrown...woo hoo! Baby X is excited about the variety in wardrobe...that or he's just kicking because he wanted more pizza!
<---- Mike trying on one of the baby backpacks that I can only imagine you'd use if you decided to climb a mountain with your kid!
