I have a toddler so life's a little chaotic at times lol.
Let me recap the last year...
April- Cousins 3rd birthday party was a lot of fun. Then we had Easter at our house. Dillan had his first egg hunt and really liked finding the goldfish filled eggs in the yard. We also had our first experience with dying eggs. He wasn't too thrilled with the whole idea. Maybe next year!
May- Dillan, my mom, and I went to the Maryland Zoo for Mother's Day. He really enjoyed the petting area. Later that month we went to Port Discovery with our friends Sammy, Blake, and Maddie. Afterwards we walked around the Inner Harbor and got caught in a rain storm! We also went to a carnival and played outside in the yard a lot.
June- The weather was nice and warm so we got in the pool a few times. We also attended the funeral of my grandmother who passed away suddenly in a car accident. It was a sad day, but Dillan sure was a handsome little guy in his suit.
July- Fireworks!!! Dillan really had fun watching them this year. His attention span was pretty short though lol.
We spent some time at the pool with our friends Lindsay, Jayden, and Bryce.
Aug- 2nd Birthday!!! Already?!?! We celebrated with a party for all our friends at Kiddie Crusoe. It was a farm themed good time. I had a blast making adorable animal cupcakes, even though they kept me up all night. We also went to Dutch Wonderland to spend the day with our little guy. He got on rides and played in the splash zone area. He had such a good time he fell asleep on the train ride around the park at the end of the day!
Sept- VACATION!!! We went back to our favorite beach destination- the Outer Banks of NC for a relaxing week. We rented a house near the beach and had our friends the Hammonds, and the Dixons join us. Sammy, Blake, and Dillan had a great week of playing and other beach activities. Dillan really liked the water this year and running around after the birds. While on vacation we found our we are expecting another little one!! He or she will arrive in May 2012.
Dillan also started attending daycare in Sept. He goes two days a week, and while it was a rough start he really likes it there.
Oct- Fall brings all sorts of fun! We went on hayrides and to the pumpkin farm. Ran through mazes and played with our friends. Dillan went trick or treating for the first time. He dressed up as Pablo from the Backyardigans.
Nov- More playdates and Thanksgiving with family.
Dec- In Dec we visited the B&O Railroad museum with my dad. We got to ride on a real train and even saw Santa Clause. Dillan was amazed by all the big trains. When we got home my dad gave Dillan a real working train for under our Christmas tree! We had two birthday parties to go to this month, Blake and Maddie both turned 2. Dillan had a lot of fun at Maddie's gym party and Blake's bounce house party. He really liked the cupcakes!!
Jan- It's a GIRL!!! We're so excited to be welcoming a little girl into our family this year! Raegan Piper is due May 17.
We decided, rather last minute, to take our annual trip to visit friends in Tampa. For 3 round trip tickets we only had to pay $15!!! Love the Southwest card and points!!! Dillan was an angel on the flight and had a ball playing with Julianna. We visited Busch Gardens twice and Universal Orlando (for free thanks to Comcast!). Dillan's favorite part was probably the animals at Busch Gardens. We saw soooo many different animals up close!
Feb- Dillan got his first Valentines at daycare. It was fun picking out the cards for the other kids and playing with all the stickers and toys he got.
Mar- We had more play dates with Sammy while Joe worked on the baby's new room with Mike. The weather has been so warm that we've spent a lot of time outside. We even bought a new swing set for the yard! We went to two parties in March. Shakes's 40th birthday and our cousins 4th birthday. Dillan likes birthdays because he gets to run around and play with lots of friends, and eat cake lol.
And that brings us back to April.
